Good day beauties!! I don’t know about you but man do I love me anything that works for my body. Whether it’s a nice smelling lotion or putting cucumbers on my face or the sore thrill of removing a nose strip (okay that really hurts!) I’m totes game!! With that being said I wanted to hop in the wagon of the Coffee Body Scrub to see if it actually works and it’s really easy to make!!…….
I know there’s a lot of products out there that touch on the Body Scrub but I thought “let me try it at home first before I spend money on something that doesn’t work”. So I looked up what I would need for it and seriously the ingredients are so simple and easy to make!
Coconut Oil (dis-chem or clicks)
That’s it. That’s all you need. You can add Honey if you’d like for a more organic feel but for my first time I opted not to add it. I got my coffee from Truth.Coffee Roasting in Town, they ground it for you right there and you get a free coffee #score!
So in a container add about 5 table spoons of Grounded Coffee and mix your Coconut Oil in it. The oil needs to be warmed up so you can either put the bottle in a cup with boiling water or you can melt some in a bowl in the microwave, I used the cup method. Then mix it, add more oil or coffee as preferred. Lastly, add the sugar (about 2 teaspoons) and Voila’:
Your very own Coffee Body Scrub!
Apply onto your body as desired (this is best to do in the shower or before you shower as it gets very messy! I had to do a whole lot of cleaning up) and leave on for about 20 minutes before rinsing off. Your skin will feel soft and smooth like baby bottoms… seriously it works
This makes for really awesome gifts if you put it in little jars and just attach a label to it (click here for examples) and it’s very cost effective. This can be given to any of your friends or family. If you want to be really cute, then you can put the scrub in cute-shaped ice-cube holders and pop it in to the fridge so that it hardens and put it in the jar once you’re ready to give your gift!
After you’ve tried it, let me know what you think!!
