Hello beauties!! To all my people who love to eat as much as I do, this is a definite Must-Try…….
This weekend my boyfriend and I were really in the mood for Mexican! Well, he was wanting it in the week already so we decided on making a date out of it on Saturday Afternoon. We decided to try El Burro, an Authentic Mexican Cuisine Restaurant in Green Point. A beautiful cosy place that’s decorated with flowers on the ceiling just before you enter the restaurant doors (if you’re like me that loves flowers, make sure to look up as and when climbing the stairs)
We are both foodies so naturally we wanted to try everything on the Menu, but, realizing how greedy that would’ve made us look we decided on just a meal per person (drag!). It was tough deciding because everything seemed so appetizing.
I had Braised Lamb Tacos which is Achiote Braised Lamb with a roasted yellow pepper salsa and mint infused sour cream, served on 3 soft blue corn tortillas.
My boyfriend had Chilorio Pork (from the Build-your-own section) which is Twice cooked pork shoulder, roasted garlic and chili paste, Mexican origanum, paprika and arbol chilli (hot) – comes with flour or corn tortillas
The food was delicious!! My lamb was cooked till perfection and was so soft that even my boyfriend couldn’t resist trying off my plate. If you love spicy food and something with a kick then the Chilorio Pork (what he had) is definitely for you! It has a nice tang to it so you get the real heat of the Mexican culture in your mouth.
With a beautiful view (especially if you catch the sunset) and cosy little place where they provide blankets if you’re on the patio, El Burro is definitely a must try if you’re wanting to have some Authentic Mexican Food. The staff were friendly and happy to assist where ever they can. With music in the background and the aroma of spices filling the restaurant it really gives off the Mexican vibe.
An absolute must try to all you foodies out there and we are surely coming back!!
p.s make a reservation to avoid disappointments
